WAYS TO LEARN AT ASHER UNIVERSITY

Traditional on campus courses

Traditional courses are those courses taught in a classroom with an instructor at a fixed day and time as listed in the “Course Schedule”.

Online courses

AU Online offers both traditional students and working professionals the opportunity to pursue their degrees at times that best fit their busy schedules through Online Courses.  Asynchronous e-learning allows students to take courses at any time, at any place affordably.  The combination of online learning, affordable tuition, and an accelerated system provides a powerful argument to complete a degree.  These courses are also listed in the “Course Schedule”.

Requirements for Students Enrolling in Online Courses

Students taking online courses at Asher University must know how to use the internet and they must be skillful in word processing and spreadsheet programs.  They must have available access to Pentium III or a more powerful computer.  Students are encouraged to discuss these technical requirements with with staff in the E-Learning office.  Computers are available for students to use on campus; however, access is limited.

Hybrid courses

Hybrid courses are those courses which combine traditional on campus and e-learning distance instructional delivery modes.

Cohort courses

Cohort courses are those courses developed for a community of learners in which ten or more students enroll in discrete courses.

Populi
Asher University utilizes the Populi online learning platform to conduct fully online courses and supplement traditional courses. All Asher University students are provided with a unique Popluli account linked to their Asher University email address and Student Information System ID number.  Students are automatically enrolled in Populi for their online and traditional courses upon registration each semester.  Populi allows students to access course content, communicate with instructors and classmates, keep track of upcoming work, submit assignments, and obtain grades.  The focus of the Populi online learning platform is to enhance interaction and collaboration in a virtual classroom.  Students or faculty who experience problems with Populi should contact the eLearning Coordinator.
