Asher University

MISSION

Here at Asher University, we are a 501-c3 Non-Profit Christian based university, where we seek to provide the opportunity to receive a high-quality education and participate in a athletic program, to a broad variety of students from all socioeconomic backgrounds.  We know the value of a quality education.  However, based on the foundational principles of the church, we strive to keep our doors open to all who want to come, including those financially otherwise disadvantaged.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We accept the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the written Word of God.   We believe in the divine inspiration, entire trustworthiness, and final authority of the Bible in all matters of faith and practice.

We Believe in one God, the Father almighty, the only one true King and creator of the entire universe and all that live in it.

We Believe in the trinity of God: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We Believe the Bible is living and the inspired Word of God.

We Believe that the Father sent His son Jesus to die for our sins and to be resurrected from the dead so that we might have eternal life in Heaven and our sins washed away.

We Believe in the power of the Holy Spirit and that when we give our lives to Jesus. He will dwell with us and help us live a more Godly for his glory.

We Believe in the love of Jesus, we must evangelize, prey, worship, and obey Him continually that we might zealously work to bring the harvest of souls for Jesus.

We Believe that there is a heaven and a hell. Deuteronomy 30:19, “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses, Now choose life, so that you and your descendants may live.” ……. in the promise of Heaven.

VISION STATEMENT

Here at Asher University, we believe that every student is born with a purpose, regardless of their past grades or financial limitations. Rooted in the promise of Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” – our vision is to build a Christ-centered university where hope meets opportunity.

We are committed to creating an affordable, grace-filled path to a quality education – a place where a “C” doesn’t close doors, but opens them. Through academic support, spiritual formation, and real-world preparation, we empower students to rise, persist, and lead lives of impact, at Asher University, we educate not just minds, but hearts – believing that God’s plan includes you, right where you are.

THE MEANING OF “ASHER”

  • When GOD went to Abram and told him, he was changing his name from Abram to Abraham, he to him “he had to be ASHER in his speech when he talks about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”!
  • In the Bible, the name Asher means “happy” or “blessing”. It comes from the Hebrew word osher, which means “happiness”, “joy”, “bliss”, and “wealth”.
  • In the Bible, Asher was the eighth son of Jacob and the founder of the Tribe of Asher.
  • Asher was one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel that was liberated out of Egypt, when Moses went to Pharaoh and told him “let my people go”.
  • Asher’s mother was Leah’s servant, Zilpah. When Asher was born, Leah exclaimed, “Happy am I! for the daughters will call me happy, so she called his name Asher”.
